Meet Lisa

Lisa Hinkson is a seasoned real estate broker licensed in both California and Arizona. She has been working in residential real estate with buyers, sellers, and large investment groups since 1998. Lisa has sold hundreds of homes throughout her career. As a repeat award winner for highest sales volume, she has always believed that consistency and exceptional customer service are the reasons she continues to receive repeat referrals from past and present clients. In 2023, Zillow awarded Lisa its Zillow Top Agent award. Only 15% of top agents nationwide earn this recognition for excellence in their field.

Lisa is a member of the National Association of Realtors®, the North San Diego County Association of Realtors®, and is a Certified Short Sale Negotiator®. She originally earned her real estate license in Arizona in 1998, later obtaining her broker’s license in 2005 and her California license in 2017. In 2019, she earned her NMLS license to further expand her expertise in mortgage financing. She has earned multiple degrees, including a Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Broadcast Journalism and a second degree in Psychology. She brings nearly 30 years of real estate sales experience to her clients.

After graduating from New Mexico State University, she worked for a local television station as a reporter and news anchor before moving to Scottsdale, Arizona, where she started her real estate business in 1998. While living in Arizona, Lisa attended an accelerated Registered Nursing (RN) program at Carrington College, where she earned perfect attendance and was recognized on the President’s List for numerous semesters. She was also the former “Calendar Girl” radio personality on the Daily Blender morning show, responsible for broadcasting weekend events to the community every Friday on air.

Lisa is an advocate for her community and has volunteered extensively throughout the years. She previously served on the board of Childhelp, an organization dedicated to helping children who are victims of physical and sexual abuse. She regularly volunteers with Feed My Starving Children, a meal-packing charity that helps feed thousands of children around the world. She has also traveled to Mexico on service trips to help communities south of the border. Currently, she volunteers with The Alabaster Jar, an anti-sex trafficking organization that helps women escape dangerous environments and safely rebuild their lives. Lisa firmly believes in the importance of giving back.

In her free time, Lisa enjoys hot yoga and has maintained a dedicated yoga practice since 2005. She is a Certified Yoga Instructor, having completed her 200-hour training at MiraCosta College and through Yoga Alliance. In 2025, following the loss of her mother after a courageous three-year battle with cancer, Lisa spent a month in Europe backpacking solo from Portugal to Spain to walk the “Camino de Santiago”, a pilgrimage she undertook as a journey of healing and self-discovery.

When she’s not working in real estate, Lisa is passionate about yoga, walking, and meditation. She has also earned a certification in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Having navigated life’s challenges with resilience and compassion, Lisa understands that buying or selling a home is often much more than a transaction; it’s a major life transition.

Lisa moved to Encinitas, California, in 2017 and currently works with Westhaven Real Estate in San Diego. She has extensive experience working with top-producing teams throughout Southern California and previously worked with eHomes San Diego, Compass Encinitas, and The Neda Nourani Team.
